Finaly it's here, the day we have been waiting for so long, after this it's Chirstmas Break!!!!!!!!! but still a few hours until we are there, anyhow i thought i would spoil you guys with some old exam answers so here we go

the five critical success factors to gain an aligned B. strategy and IT/IS strategy is:

Committment and understanding from top management for the needed activites...
A combined top-down and bottom-up processes where necessary individuals/roles are involved
Education of people in the org. about the purpose and need for alignment and related activities
A well communicated, known and accepted b. strategy and other strategies
a strategic plan developed from the business strategy and not in technology

then we have some inhibitors and enables for the development of IS/IT and business strategy to be developed at the same time....

Understanding of business
well prioritiesing
close relation between business and IT
failing to deliver commitments - invloved in strategy development
top management support of IT
IT management leadership
Senior executives understand and support IT

Then we have the three different IS systems

DP: operational performance improvement
MIS: Giving managers information to make better decisions
SIS: improving competitive advantage though changes in conduct of business

Problems i IS development
not involving top management
not realizing business objectives and strategy into a plan
not involving user as much as needed
not doing top down analysis to find critical fnctions IS has to support
Not providing alternative solutions
not obtain support and cooperation

problems in implementation of IS
not having qualified personnel
not beeing committed and having good communication
not having a clear-cut b. strategy
Not having an understanding that IT might change the strategy
Not having top management support

hahah now comes some responsiblities for the CIO

handle processes and practices providing a flow of information
IT and computersystems, supporting B. goals
Being a key contributor in development f strategic goals
analysing and redesigning work and/or infrastructure
exploring the companys knowledge resources
